Charity

Each year the Athletic Union nominates a charity to support for the academic year. The money is generated through the charitable efforts of the clubs and individual members of the Athletic Union. Nearly every club organises at least one charity fundraising event during the year.

Last year's charity is the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Launched in October 2000, they have flown over 6,000 missions in seven years. They are on call 365 days a year, and need to raise £2.5million per year to continue running, which is a massive £6,900 per day.

Last AU clubs have raised a massive £8,851.99 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. A massive congratulations to everyone who organised fundraising events, including 24-hour sport marathons, tournaments and events. Special mention to the netball club who raised £1,480.23 alone through various events.
