Athletic Union
Welcome to the Athletic Union. The AU is the part of YUSU that oversees and runs all student sport at the University. This year we have 54 sports clubs, from the ever-popular football, netball and rugby to the lesser-known octopush and capoeira - there really is something out there for everyone. Read our constitution here.
The clubs cater for a wide range of interests and abilities - some play regular competitive fixtures, while others are solely recreational.
Feel free to browse the club details, and if you have any queries, do get in touch with the clubs, they will be more than happy to help! To see the list of sports clubs at York, click here.
Not found what you were looking for? If there is a sport that you feel should be introduced to York, and you are interested in setting up a club, please contact Jo at au@yusu.org.
And even if University sport isn't for you, then perhaps college sport is more your scene. There are nearly 20 different sports played at college level, where the focus is on participation - it's a great way to get involved in your college and make new friends. Check out our college sport section for more information on the Deloitte Inter-College Sport Championship and how to get involved.
You can now sign up for AU membership online. You will need to be an Athletic Union member to join any of the sports clubs. JOIN THE ATHLETIC UNION.
York have won Roses 124 points to 122 after an epic battle. Richard de Boltz's last gasp equaliser in the Men's First XI hockey clinched the victory on a tense final day. Congratulations to all of the clubs involved, and thanks to everybody who was there!
The UYAU Calendar is on sale now from the AU Office for £5.
On Wednesday of Week 6, The University of York retained the Varsity trophy after a succesful day of sport. Congratulations to all involved.
