Give a helping hand
Helping students to engage in volunteering whilst studying at York. Have a look at our projects, and if anything interests you get involved!
Being a conservation volunteer is a challenging, fun and rewarding experience. We undertake all manner of conservation projects, both little and large, to conserve and promote all aspects of British wildlife, and try to do something different each week so that no weekend is the same.
Our work takes us to a number of beautiful locations dotted around the surrounding North Yorkshire coutryside. Many of the sites that we work on are designated Nature Reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and feature a number of diverse habitats including seasonally flooding hay-meadows, extensive woodland valleys, botanically rich peat-bogs, vast country estates and coastal mud-flats.
Each site directly benefits as a result of our work to conserve and enhances the unique interests found there. The community benefits from the work that we do to make the sites and their features more accesible.
