There are tons of ways to get involved in volunteering with your college.
Every college has volunteering reps on their JCRC. These guys know everything there is to know about volunteering at uni, and are a great first point of call for more information.

College Cup
Our College Cup, supported by Dame Judi Dench, is our way of finding the most helpful college on campus. You can compete with other colleges in our mega college challenges and earn points for your college. Last year’s winners were Halifax, but this year the scores are back to 0, so look out for more information on how you can get involved and help your college win!
College Challenges
Every college runs a college challenge once a term, where, as a college you can go help out with a specific job. Past college challenges include painting community centres, gardening in retirement homes, loading books onto lorries, cleaning beaches, litter picking and lots lots more! These challenges are a great way to meet like minded people in your college, and by attending them you also gain points towards your college’s cup total.
Food Collections
At the end of every term, the college reps will come pick up any left over food which is within the sell by date and sealed, and donate it to York’s arclight centre for the homeless. We also take unwanted clothes and bric-a-brac; perfect if you’re moving out! Keep an eye out for more details on this term’s collection.
