Societies
Starting A Society
Societies can be ratified in two parts of the year. The procedure below will only work during these periods, for dates, or more information, please contact activities@yusu.org
1 - The main ratification window is in the Summer Term - here Societies can re-ratify or ratify for the first time to ensure they are registered in time for the next Academic year.
2 - In January. Societies may ratify in January for the rest of the year if they are set up during the year - these societies will still have to re-ratify in the Summer Term.
Please follow these steps to start ratifying a society:
- Login to the website
- Click on the "Societies" menu item (on the left hand side of the page)
- Click the "Society List" link
- Click the "New Society" button
- Fill in the form and then click the "Save" button

Once you have completed all the forms, please wait to hear back from us. The information you provide will be reviewed, and then the society will be officially ratified by the Student Activities Officer.
