Getting Ratified
Get Ratified
Being ratified has a range of benefits, including:
- public liability insurance supplied by the Union
- room bookings access
- free email and website facilities
- a YUSU Fair stall
- advice from Union officers and staff
- the chance to apply for funding from the Union
- free advertising on our regulated noticeboards, and on Daily Info and YUSU:News
- use of the Societies Office in Grimston House
To get ratified, you need to:
- Have three UoY students acting as the society's signatories
- abide by the YUSU constitution and Union Code
- submit a constitution form, society information sheet and signatory list through our online system
- meet our Student Activities Safety Worker for a risk assessment
- meet with the approval of the Executive Committee after doing all of the above.
When you're ready to start the online process, you need to log in to the website using your socs account (if you're an existing society) or with your normal york username and password (if you're a new society).
Then click "my options" in the top-right corner, followed by "Society" in the menu that comes up and then "New Society".
