Clubs & Societies
Joining a club or society gives you a wealth of opportunities- to gain new skills, do things you've never done before, and to meet likeminded people.
This section includes a list of all the ratified clubs and societies of the Students' Union, along with descriptions, contact details and websites for each. There's also a guide to setting up and running a ratified society of the Students' Union, all the relevant forms available for download, and lots of other information.
We hope this mini-site is of use to club and society members, prospective and committees but it's early days and the text will be reviewed depending on student feedback. If there is anything you consider vague, unclear, or just needs clarifying, please e-mail the Societies and Communications Officer on societies@yusu.org or the AU President on au@yusu.org we'll do our best to update the text.

Athletic Union President - Alex LacyE-mail: au@yusu.org I am responsible for all the student sport and physical recreation at the university. As well as ensuring the successful day to day running of the Athletic Union, the president represents the interests of athletic union members internally to the university, and externally on a local, regional, and national level. It is my job to address the requirements of all current clubs and members, and to play a central role in the development of new facilities and new opportunities for the Athletic Union. Basically if you want to know anything about sport, I’ll help you out.
